The role of the Prevention Educator will be to provide comprehensive prevention programs regarding the Shifting Boundaries and Green Dot curriculums. Services will be provided in the Green River Area Development District.
This positioninvolves the delivery and execution of the Shifting Boundaries and Green Dot Community Strategy to middle and high school students that aims to educate individuals to recognize high risk situations that may result in sexual violence and to teach bystanders the skills to assess a situation and intervene in a safe and effective manner.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge related to key risk and protective factors, especially regarding social norms around consent, bystander intervention, and sexual harassment.
Knowledge of and/or sensitivity to issues of sexual violence.
Demonstrated ability to network and carry oneself professionally in client service relationships.
Demonstrated ability to carry out long-term projects.
Demonstrated ability in public speaking and/or training.
Demonstrated skills in oral and written communications.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working with middle and high school students.
Demonstrated computer skills.
The ability to work cooperatively with different personalities and individuals of diverse racial/economic/cultural backgrounds.
Knowledge of the public health model.
Knowledge of social media and social marketing
Applicant must be able to participate in an “on call” rotation with other staff. Must participate in fundraisers and other events as needed after normal business hours. Reliable transportation is required. Must submit to a criminal background check.
Requires Bachelors Degree from an accredited university and strong interpersonal skills.
This position comes with paid health insurance, option to participate in retirement program, vacation and sick days upon completion of 3 month probation.
