Your donation provides dignity and comfort
Our Laundry of Love program offers clothing and toiletries to survivors after the forensic exam. Your donations of new items are a tremendous way to help New Beginnings fulfill our mission.
Many assault survivors must give their clothing to the police when they arrive at the hospital. Law enforcement officers often need the victim’s clothing for evidence in the criminal investigation of the assailant.
This leaves our assault survivor with nothing but a hospital gown.
Too many times a victim leaves the hospital through the waiting rooms and parking lots in a flimsy gown, which labels them as victims to all who see.
The New Beginnings Laundry of Love program provides Survivor Kits so that victims may have the essential items to maintain the dignity they deserve, and will begin the process of providing comfort to victims when they most need it.
A Laundry of Love Survivor Kit contains each of the following new items:
- 1 pair of elastic shorts or pants
- 1 t-shirt
- 1 pair of underwear
- 1 sport bra (females)
- 1 pair flip flops/rubber sandals
- Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap or body wash, lotion
If you are interested in making a donation you may purchase any of the above items or complete an entire kit. If you prefer, your $25 donation enables us to provide one kit.
